SAAB Forces Shut Down This Year

Several years ago, Saab Automobile had filed for bankruptcy and though they will no longer stay on business, marking the end of more than 60 years. After the filing of the bankrupcy report, the Swedish automaker’s owners had already surrendered their assets to the judicial court.Of course Saab fans might figure out and see GM as the major competitor and the villain in this corporate drama and is now reaching the peak of success to the automotive industry. There have been also rumor that the company has forced and paid the said auto maker to get out of the industry and merge their assets to them.

The name of Saab's last concept was not launched to the market due to the said issue and that is the renowned Phoenix which was shown off at the 2011 Geneva auto show, a final bid by the company to show it could rise from nowher. Its turbocharged 2.8-liter engine made 300 horsepower and cabin technology was built around a hard drive-based navigation system.The company, founded in 1947 and owned by GM since 2000, was due to be shut down in 2009 as GM consolidated its brands.Victor Muller, former CEO of Spyker Cars, threw Saab a lifeline, taking over the company and attempting to arrange financing. Most recently, Chinese automaker Youngman Automobile Group was set to purchase Saab. But GM, which still owns Saab technology licenses, spiked the deal by refusing to extend the licensing to Young man.

2012 delivers brighten for automatic companies

The auto manufacturers have started 2012 on positive note, seeing steady and stable development in the revenue during Jan. The automobile industry had witnessed strong development revenue last season since high interest rates and fuel cost had affected the sentiments, which has kept the revenue poor.

The revenue of Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) during Jan increased by 22% to 44,717 systems as when in comparison to 36,718 systems marketed in the corresponding month of 2011. The firm's home revenue increased by 20% to 41,369 systems in Jan as against 34,601 systems marketed during Jan 2011.

The exports during Jan increased by 95% to 3,348 systems as when in comparison to 1,713 systems shipped out in the corresponding interval of last season.

Moreover, Tata Motors had posted good revenue numbers during Jan, seeing 16% jump. This consisted of exports of 87,465 systems as when in comparison to 75,423 marketed in the same interval of 2011. The firm has stated that its home revenue during Jan hopped by 14% to 80,382 systems as when in comparison to 70,475 systems marketed in the corresponding month of last season.

The revenue from exports stood at 7,083 automobiles during Jan this season increased by 43% as against 4,948 automobiles during Jan last season.

The home passenger car revenue and distribution offtake of Fiat cars also increased by 14% to 36,770 systems from 32,386 systems in the corresponding interval of last season.

Chennai-based Hyundai Motor India had seen revenue development of 15.2% to 49,901 systems as when in comparison to 43,316 systems in the same interval of 2011. The home revenue hopped by 11.85% during Januray to 33,900 systems from 30,306 systems marketed in Jan last season. The exports increased by 22.9% to 16,001 systems as when in comparison to 13,010 systems shipped out in the like interval of 2011.
